Peanuts

Bought some peanuts and ate them for breakfast and lunch, combined with rice and veggies from work. Peanuts are a great source of protein and calories when on a budget. The pound I bought from Walgreens was $4.29, which works out to $3.78 per 100g of protein and $3.31 per 2,000 calories.
